Theme for photo shoot P2 (b)

To begin with,we decided going to try our best to take arrange of photos of a model hold a traditional fan.Because the traditional fan is linked to the Chinese traditional culture. After a long discussion, our group come out with 4 plans.

Plan 1

The first plan,we are going to find a female model and the model will wear a traditional clothes such as cheongsam*.We are going to set of photos for the model hold one or two colourful fans* with a interesting composition. We are going to take the photos of model in a studio with a white background and we are going to take the background in someplace links to Chinese traditional culture such as Chinatown, and we will use the photoshop to synthesis.

cheongsam*

The cheongsam is a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for women, also known in Mandarin Chinese as qipao (旗袍), and Mandarin gown in English. The stylish and often tight-fitting cheongsam or qipao (chipao) that is best known today was created in the 1920s in Shanghai and made fashionable by socialites and upper class women.

colourful fans

We are going to find the traditional colour fans which will suit for the cheongsam by colour matching and will attract people attention and let them focus on the fan.Because it's out main project.Below are some examples.

Chinatown

The present Chinatown is part of the City of Westminster in London, occupying the area in and around Gerrard Street. It contains a number of Chinese restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, souvenir shops, and other Chinese-run businesses

Plan 3

Because the fan link to the traditional culture, the fan also play a important part in the Chinese Kung Fu such as the famous Tai Chi*.Therefore,in our plan3,we might going to take a set of photos of male model hold the traditional fan with the landscape pattern or the Kung fu pattern and wear the tradition Tai Chi clothes,in a Kung Fu post.

Tai Chi*

Often shortened to t'ai chi, taiji or tai chi in English usage, T'ai chi ch'uan or tàijíquán is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. Though originally conceived as a martial art, it is also typically practiced for a variety of other personal reasons: competitive wrestling in the format of Pushing Hands (Tui Shou), demonstration competitions, and achieving greater longevity. As a result, a multitude of training forms exist, both traditional and modern, which correspond to those aims with differing emphasis. Some training forms of t'ai chi ch'uan are especially known for being practiced with relatively slow movements.Today, t'ai chi ch'uan has spread worldwide.

Plan 4

We plan to take a Series of photos of a model hold a fan under retro Shanghai style. The background should be The Bund in Shanghai, but we can find something similar in many places in the UK such as London. In addition, the model should wear the traditional suit to apply this idea. Moreover, this idea can use for movie poster.

The Bund

The Bund is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. It is on the west bank of Huangpu River from the Waibaidu Bridge to Nanpu Bridge and winds 1500 meters (0.93 mile) in length. The most famous and attractive sight which is at the west side of the Bund are the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. The 1,700-meters (1,859 yards) long flood-control wall, known as 'the lovers' wall', located on the side of Huangpu River from Huangpu Park to Xinkai River and once was the most romantic corner in Shanghai in the last century. After renovation, the monotone concrete buildings that lovers leaned against in the past have been improved into hollowed-out railings full of romantic atmosphere. Standing by the railings, visitors can have a 'snap-shot' view of the scenery of Pudong Area and Huangpu River.
Before the 1840s, the Bund was a muddy narrow lane with tall reeds. It initially became a British settlement. After Shanghai was established as the trading port in 1846, a street was paved there and the riversides were reinforced. Then, rows of commercial buildings were constructed. As the UK Concession, a building boom at the end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century led to the Bund becoming a major financial hub of East Asia. It was the centre of the city's politics, economy and culture more than a hundred years ago, consulates of most countries and many banks, businesses and newspaper offices were settled there, and that's why we have these art-like buildings.
